Túró Rudi, one of the favourite sweets of Hungarians, has been renewed!
The production process of Túró Rúdi has recently been changed, and the sweets are now made from real chocolate instead of a coating mass.
A 2-year, HUF 300 million development project at the Sole-Mizo Zrt. dairy in Marcal has recently been completed. From now on, the cottage cheese sticks will now be covered in real dark chocolate, Index reports.
Instead of chocolate, the bars have so far been made with a cheap, easy-to-use coating of vegetable fats. According to a report by szmo.hu, in order to change this now, several new pieces of equipment and an increase in capacity were needed at the factory. However, after the improvements, they were able to make a coating of 53 percent dark chocolate on the sticks, and this completely changed the taste of the dessert.
The change is also unique because in more than five decades, the recipe for Túró Rudi has not been changed much. The production of the sweet began in 1968.
